Musculoskeletal Injections

An ultrasound guided injection of the shoulder

The majority of our procedures are for Musculoskeletal intervention. This involves using ultrasound or fluoroscopy to guide a needle into a joint or tendon, either to treat it with drugs, to break up calcium (barbotage), or to inject contrast prior to an MRI scan (arthrogram).

Ultrasound is the most commonly used modality to guide the needle. This is due to its high resolution and dynamic real time capabilities.
